Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy-High Risk Pregnancy

Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy

The uterus is removed during a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. The uterus is separated from the rest of the body and removed in tiny parts by minor incisions or vaginal delivery in this procedure. Total laparoscopic hysterectomy is used to treat painful or heavy menstrual cycles, pelvic discomfort, fibroids, and cancer.

The surgery is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. Just below the umbilicus, a tiny incision is made. A fibre-optic tool known as a laparoscope is introduced into the belly and inflated with gas to examine the interior organs. On the abdomen, more small incisions may be created through which surgical tools are passed. The uterus, cervix, as well as the ovaries and tubes, are then removed.

 Total laparoscopic hysterectomy is recommended

When you wake up from anesthetic, you will be in the recovery room. For the following several hours, you could feel tired. Because of the gas used in the operation, you may have pain in your shoulder or back. It clears up after a day or two. For a few days following the surgery, you may experience some soreness or fatigue. You should refrain from strenuous activity or exercise until you have fully recovered.
